Getting started
What Planet Clicker is, whether it is free, and how to start playing in your browser.
What is Planet Clicker?
Planet Clicker is a free online idle/incremental game. You tap a planet to collect Mass, spend that Mass on generators and upgrades, and watch your planet evolve through nine visual stages — from a scattering of Space Dust up to a full Galaxy. It runs entirely in your browser with no download.
Is Planet Clicker free to play online?
Yes. Planet Clicker is completely free and runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to buy, download, or install, and there are no ads interrupting play.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. Planet Clicker is a 100% browser-based game built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It loads in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, and other modern browsers on desktop and mobile without a plugin or installer.
Is Planet Clicker family-friendly?
Yes. Planet Clicker is a single-player game with no chat, no user-generated content, and no in-game purchases. It works well as a quiet, screen-friendly game for a wide age range.
Mass, generators, and upgrades
How clicking, generators, upgrades, and the planet stages work.
How do I play Planet Clicker?
Click or tap the planet to earn Mass equal to your click power. Spend Mass in the Generators tab on units that keep producing Mass automatically, and in the Upgrades tab on one-time boosts to your click power or total production. Your lifetime Mass determines your planet's current evolution stage.
How does Mass production work?
Each generator produces a fixed amount of Mass per second per unit owned; owning ten Comets produces ten times what one Comet produces. Production (catalyst) upgrades multiply your total output from every generator at once, so buying one is always a big jump in growth.
Do generator prices go up?
Yes. Each generator's price rises by about 15% every time you buy one more, which is standard for idle games. This keeps cheaper generators worth revisiting instead of only chasing the newest, most expensive one.
What are the controls for Planet Clicker?
Click or tap the planet, or press Space on a keyboard. Number keys 1 through 8 buy the corresponding generator in shop order. The M key toggles sound on and off.
Strategy and progression
How to grow your planet faster and reach the later evolution stages.
What should I buy first in Planet Clicker?
Buy the cheapest generator you can afford, repeatedly. Dust Collectors and Comets are inexpensive and their output adds up quickly once you own several. Click upgrades are worth grabbing early too, since they make every tap worth more while your generators are still small.
How do I reach the later planet stages?
Reaching Star, Black Hole, or Galaxy is entirely about lifetime Mass, which only ever goes up. Keep buying the best-value generators and upgrades, and prioritize production (catalyst) upgrades the moment you can afford them — they compound every generator you own.
Should I prioritize click upgrades or generators?
Early on, a mix of both works best: a couple of cheap generators for steady income, then a click upgrade so idle taps stay worthwhile. As your generators grow, most of your Mass will come from them automatically, and production catalysts become the highest-value purchase.
What is the fastest way to reach the Galaxy stage?
Reinvest constantly. Never let Mass sit unspent — buy the cheapest useful generator or upgrade available, and grab every production catalyst as soon as it is affordable, since each one doubles your entire generator output at once.
Devices, saving, and accounts
Mobile play, browsers, local progress, offline progress, and resetting.
Does Planet Clicker save my progress?
Yes. Your Mass, generators, upgrades, and best lifetime Mass are saved locally in your own browser as you play. Nothing is sent to a server, and there is no account or login required.
Does Planet Clicker have offline progress?
No — Mass only accumulates while the game tab is open. This is a deliberate choice: it keeps every player's progress verifiably earned rather than a number that ran up in the background.
Can I play Planet Clicker on mobile?
Yes. Planet Clicker is touch-first: tap the planet to collect Mass, and use the Generators and Upgrades tabs below it to shop. The layout adapts to phones, tablets, and desktops.
Can I play Planet Clicker offline?
Planet Clicker needs a connection to load the page the first time. After that, some browsers may keep the tab responsive without a network connection, but progress does not advance while the tab itself is closed.
Is there a Planet Clicker app?
No official app is required — the game is the website. You can bookmark it or add the tab to your phone's home screen if your browser supports that, but you still play in the browser.
Do I need an account to play Planet Clicker?
No. There is no sign-up, no email gate, and no profile. Your Mass, generators, and upgrades stay in this browser on this device.
How do I reset my Planet Clicker progress?
Open Stats from the game HUD, tap Reset progress, then confirm with the second tap. That clears your current Mass, generators, and upgrades and starts a fresh planet — your best-ever lifetime Mass is kept as a record. This cannot be undone.
Why did my Planet Clicker progress disappear?
Local saves are lost if you clear cookies or site data for planetclicker.lol, switch browsers, use a private window that has since closed, or open the game on a different device. Because the save never left your browser, we cannot recover it from our side.
What browsers does Planet Clicker work on?
Any current browser with JavaScript support: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop, plus their mobile counterparts.
