How to Play Planet Clicker
Planet Clicker is a free idle clicker about growing a planet. Tap for Mass, spend it on generators and upgrades, and watch your planet evolve through nine cosmic stages.

Grow a planet. There is no losing.
Planet Clicker is a single-player browser idle game about one loop: tap the planet for Mass, spend Mass to grow faster, and watch the shop and the planet itself change as your lifetime Mass climbs.
There is no timer, no game over, and no way to lose progress by playing badly — the only real choice is how efficiently you spend your Mass. Every purchase either raises your click power or adds to your automatic production per second.
The game is free, runs in the browser, and does not require an account. Open play Planet Clicker when you want the planet; use this guide when you want the full rules, the economy, and the habits that grow a planet fastest.
Controls
Click, tap, or press Space
Every input does the same thing: collect Mass equal to your current click power. Number keys shortcut the shop for keyboard players.

Click or tap the planet to collect Mass. There is no cooldown — tap as fast as you like.

The loop
Four steps, repeated for as long as you play
Every session follows the same sequence. Understanding it is most of what "getting good" at Planet Clicker means.

Tap the planet
Click or tap the planet in the center of the board to collect Mass. Each tap adds your current click power, shown just below the planet.

Buy generators
Spend Mass on generators — Dust Collectors, Comets, Space Stations, and more — that keep producing Mass automatically, even between taps.

Buy upgrades
Upgrades permanently boost either your click power or your total production. Each one only needs to be bought once.

Watch your planet evolve
As your lifetime Mass climbs, your planet grows through nine visual stages — from a loose cloud of Space Dust up to a full Galaxy.

How the Planet Clicker economy actually works
The same rules apply from your first tap to your last generator.
Mass
Mass is the single currency in Planet Clicker. You earn it by tapping the planet and from generators you own; you spend it on generators and upgrades.
Generators
Each generator produces a fixed amount of Mass per second per unit owned. Buying more of the same generator raises its price by about 15% each time — a standard idle-game cost curve that keeps every tier relevant.
Upgrades
Upgrades are one-time purchases. Click upgrades add flat Mass or multiply your click power; production (catalyst) upgrades multiply the output of every generator you own at once.
No losing state
Planet Clicker never ends and there is no game over. Your planet only grows — the only choice is how to spend your Mass.

Planet stages
From Space Dust to a Galaxy
Your planet's stage is purely a function of lifetime Mass — it never resets while you play, and it never blocks a purchase. Full details, thresholds, and descriptions for all nine stages are on the stages page.
Common mistakes
What slows a planet down
Slow growth in Planet Clicker is almost always a spending problem, not a tapping problem. These are the habits that hold a planet back.
Hoarding Mass
Mass sitting unspent produces nothing. Unless you are saving for one specific purchase you can already see, buy the cheapest useful thing available.
Ignoring cheap generators
Early Dust Collectors and Comets look tiny, but their compounding 1.15x cost curve means the first few units are always the best value in the game.
Skipping catalysts
A production catalyst doubles everything you already own — including generators you buy afterward. Delaying one costs more the longer you wait.
Only clicking
Clicking is satisfying but generators keep working while your tab is open and you are reading the shop, not just while you tap.
Strategy habits
Tips to grow faster
Treat these as habits, not shortcuts. The rules never change; your spending does. For a deeper walkthrough, see the full tips page.
- Buy your first two or three generators before spending on click upgrades — passive income compounds while you read this sentence.
- Re-check the shop after every purchase; a generator you could not afford a moment ago is often affordable now.
- Click upgrades matter most early, before your generators are producing much on their own.
- Watch for the "Buy Max" option once you have surplus Mass — it is the fastest way to convert a stockpile into more generators.
- Production upgrades (the catalysts) multiply everything at once, so buy one the moment you can afford it.
- There is no penalty for switching tabs between Generators and Upgrades — compare prices before committing your Mass.
Where you can play
Same game on phone and desktop
Planet Clicker runs in any modern browser. You do not install an app from a store. If two devices disagree about your planet, that is expected: progress never leaves the browser you played in.
Desktop browsers
Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari all run Planet Clicker with no plugin. Click the planet with your mouse, or use Space.
Phones and tablets
Planet Clicker is touch-first. Tap the planet, and use the Generators and Upgrades tabs below it to shop with your thumb.
Progress on this device
Mass, generators, upgrades, and your best lifetime Mass live in local browser storage. They stay until you reset them or clear site data, and they do not sync across devices.
